Timber frame Home - Glenwood Springs, Colorado

This timber frame home contains open space living on the first floor with two bedrooms above.  A one bedroom apartment located in the walk out basement allows for flexibility and added living quarters during the peak tourist seasons.  The addition (shown in elevations) adds a master suite on the first floor, a bedroom suite and den on the second floor, and added square footage to the apartment.  This home is designed for a slope with views towards the southwest; a double height great room and extended gable over a portion of the deck to strengthen this focus. A large wrap around deck provides for entertaining and creates a seamless transition from inside to out.  Finally, the pronounced overhangs provide protection from the elements in the winter and shade for cooling in the summer.
